What is Joy Bible Study?

Joy Bible Study is where women of all ages and backgrounds meet together to study the Bible. We learn about God and His love for us and how to apply what we learn to our everyday lives. We are a community who encourage each other in our faith and make lasting friendships.

Joy is a safe and fun place to be. You are welcome whether you know the Bible well or if you have never read it before. Joy is an independent and nondenominational Bible study. We come together under the umbrella of Scripture to focus on what we have in common and what brings us together - Jesus Christ- rather than on what makes us different.

We meet on Wednesday mornings from mid- September through mid-May and study one or two books of the Bible with a contemporary study guide each year. We also enjoy several events. The year begins with a Fall Tea. We celebrate in December with a Christmas Gathering and end the year with a Spring Luncheon. These events are a great way to relax and enjoy great food and company! Guests are always welcome.

Joy began meeting in 1982 and since then over 900 women have been members. We meet at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Acton; however, we are an independent Bible study that is self-supporting and led by women who attend Joy.

We come from many towns in the MetroWest and Merrimack Valley region and beyond. Joy is made up of newcomers as well as women who have attended for a long time. Each year we make new friends and renew old friendships as we explore God’s Word together. We would love to have you come and see what Joy is like. You may visit us any Wednesday, and enrollment is ongoing throughout the year. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

“Joy is…laughter, deep friendships, personal insights, warm and fuzzy, and one of the best parts of the last 18 years of my life!”
