About Joy Bible Study
Joy Bible Study is beginning its 35th year as an independent, non-denominational, community Bible study for women of all ages and levels of Bible knowledge. We are a diverse group of women from many towns and backgrounds. Joy is a safe place to come together under the authority of scripture to study God’s Word without any doctrinal or denominational interference. Joy is known as "the serious bible study." We emphasize application—how we may apply the simple truths of the Bible in our everyday lives. Joy is a place where like-minded women meet and make lasting friendships.
Joy Bible Study was founded in Acton in 1982 as a satellite study of Grace Chapel’s Joy Bible Study in Lexington, MA. Every year we do one or books of the Bible or topical studies. We are sponsored by Faith Evangelical Free Church but we are an independent Bible study that is self-supported and staffed by the women who attend Joy. We respect all backgrounds and church affiliations and all levels of bible knowledge. We focus on what we have in common and what brings us together—Jesus Christ—rather than on what makes us different.
We offer a class for 4 and 5 year olds with age appropriate lessons, songs, and crafts. Childcare for infants and children up to age three is provided each week by our caring sitters and teachers. And we have a class for home schoolers.
